Conventional HVAC
Experienced with conventional air conditioning and heating since 1979.
In addition to high velocity HVAC, AirMart of Texas offers conventional air conditioning with American Standard and Bosch brand systems with over 40 years experience!
A conventional air conditioning system is a split system that consists of inside and outside components:
Refrigerant cooling air conditioner
Evaporator coil
Furnace
Fan
Ducts
Thermostat or control panel
These components circulate and refrigerate your air, then carry it throughout the space, and set your desired temperature.
For improved efficiency you can combine your air conditioning system with a variety of heating systems:
GOOD: Electric Heat
Most affordable installation, fastest, most costly to run. Electric resistance heating converts nearly 100% of the energy in the electricity to heat. However, most electricity is produced from coal, gas, or oil generators that convert only about 30% of the fuel's energy into electricity. Because of electricity generation and transmission losses, electric heat is often more expensive than heat produced in the home or business using combustion appliances, such as natural gas, propane, and oil furnaces.
BETTER: Electric Heat with a Heat Pump
More efficient, cost 30% more than electric. Electric heat with heat pumps are made to maintain a 3-5 degree temperature differential in the home.
In warm climates with average or better electric rates, the heat pump is hands-down the best heating system. It costs less to operate than a furnace (most markets), and in tight, well insulated homes, a heat pump is actually more comfortable. The lower supply temperature, once considered the bane of heat pumps, is actually preferable in well insulated homes.
If electricity is the only choice, heat pumps are preferable in most climates, as they easily cut electricity use by 50% when compared with electric resistance heating. Electric resistance heat can be supplied by centralized forced-air electric furnaces or by heaters in each room.
A heat pump is highly efficient because it doesn't manufacture the heat it distributes. Instead, it finds heat in the outside air and "pumps" or "moves" it into your home in the winter.
A heat pump can save you as much as 30% on heating costs when compared to a gas furnace and provides year-round comfort.
A high-efficiency electric heat pump does a great job of providing continuous comfort. Gas furnaces often blast certain areas with heat causing uncomfortable hot spots. Heat pumps provide a more continuous flow of heat and even temperature.
BEST: Gas fired hydronic heat
Most efficient, most costly. Hot water heat generated from a tankless hot water heater, works like the radiator in your car. Hot water heats up the coils, blower moves the hot air into your home. Residential boiler can be included with this option for more efficient hot water use.
In moderate to cold climates where a heat pump requires significant supplemental heat, a natural gas-fired hydronic coil is preferable to electric strips. A high-efficiency tankless water heater is the ideal heat source for hydronics.
Additional HVAC services:
Ductless systems
Do you have hot water or steam heat that leaves little to no option for comfort when it comes to air conditioning? Need a small air conditioner to cool a server or electronics room? Ductless split systems are the answer! These units have been a quiet solution for cooling and heating problems worldwide.
Each system has two essential components; 1) an indoor air handler 2) the outdoor unit. The two units are connected to each other using a set of refrigerant lines, much like a traditional air conditioning system but without the ductwork! Most installations can be started and completed in less than one day with virtually no damage or reconstruction costs.
Electronic Air Cleaners
Dust mites and mold can be controlled in the home by using dehumidifiers and proper filter media, which prevents cooler surfaces from becoming damp.
Save energy by keeping your heating and cooling systems clean and efficient. AirMart of Texas offers the Lennox and AprilAire line of electronic and cartridge filtration systems.
Dryer Vent Cleaning
Don’t know if your dryer vent needs cleaning? It is very easy to recognize the signs for a dirty dryer vent which requires cleaning. They include:
Drying times that are longer than 35 minutes
Clothes that are extremely hot to the touch after drying
Your outside dryer vent flap does not open during a dryer’s operation
It has been a year since your last dryer vent cleaning
